Our educational philosophy is based on a developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum. Our curriculum is based on the UK Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Teaching includes programs that promote children's active exploration of the environment so that children have the opportunity to explore, reflect, interact and communicate with other children and adults. We encourage a mixture of teacher-led and child-initiated activities. We believe that children should be treated as individuals and be allowed to learn at their own pace and developmental level. Our long term and short term planning involving children and parents in the process ensures we capture the needs and interests of all of children. We ensure our schools are kept up to date about the best practices in early childhood education.
Our two kindergartens are International English-speaking kindergarten for ex-pat and local families seeking western-style play-based education for children 2.9 - 5 years old.
Situated just inside beautiful Sai Kung Country Park, Leapfrog provides a spacious, natural environment for your child to grow and learn through play. We have a large outdoor play area with climbing frames, slides and ride on toys and covered sand pit and craft/activity areas. We value community and parental involvement. We currently have 2 classes and a high teacher to child ratio. Our older children take part in the Get Reading Right programme and the teachers plan exciting and creative programmes of learning to best meet every child’s needs and interests.
City Kids Pre-school
Located in Mid-Levels, we offer morning sessions for 2.9-5 year olds with a maximum class size of 12. Our programme is designed so that our students, who arrive as toddlers, exit as self-confident children ready for primary school. We have three class groups. Children are placed in the groups based on cognitive and social readiness. We feel small class size is essential first, in developing positive relationships between teachers and individual children; and second in promoting language development, innate curiosity, and lifelong learning. In addition to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, our children participate in Mandarin, Music & Movement, Primary school preparation (which includes Get Reading Right) and Library.
